Let’s Do a Patriotic Pillow Sew Along!

Thought it would be fun to do a patriotic pillow sew along this month because who doesn’t like to have something new to display for Flag Day and July 4th? This is how it will work. I found this adorable pillow pattern for free from Material Girl Quilts. You have a whole month to work on it and finish it before July. Only one week if you want to display it for Flag Day!! It’s fast an easy so that’s plenty of time. Then email me pictures of the pillow you made so I can share it with everyone. Let’s be inspired to join in and create something new for our home!

May’s Winner!

Before I go any further, I need to announce the winner of May’s giveaway! It’s an adorable patriotic kitchen towel to go with our theme. Congratulations, Christy! You will be receiving it in a couple of days. Hope you enjoy it!

Patriotic Pillow Project

Here’s my sewing process for the patriotic pillow sew along. I found this cute package of patriotic fat quarters. I then gathered some other fabric to audition and use in this project.

Read through the directions before you start. They are easy to understand, but if you have a question just ask me. This is easy and quick. I finished it in just a couple hours. The pillow form is what I’m most excited about! I found it at Walmart, in the bed pillow section, and it’s a “travel pillow” form. It measures 14”x 20” and was a little over $3.00. Pillow inserts are so expensive so finding this was great. It fits perfect on chairs or benches.

I’m so excited about my next blog on June 21st! It will be my first “Quilt Shop” review! My husband and I went on a mini vacation a few weeks ago and I stopped into this nearby quilt shop. You will have to come back and read where we were and all about the shop. I will say they were all super nice with me and emailed the interview questions right back to me. It was a joy to meet them. It is a great shop, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Enjoy the summer and find time to sew! Can’t wait to see those patriotic pillows!
