The 10 minute table runner is my final gift idea for this year. It is darling and you have plenty of time before Christmas to make dozens of them if you need to! No kidding!
I made many of these years ago for Christmas gifts and they were a hit! Recently I was in a little gift shop and someone was selling these table runners. They caught my eye because they are so pretty and I realized that some of you may not have seen them before, especially if you are a beginner quilter! These are perfect for you!
One nice thing about the 10 minute table runner is that there isn’t any batting, and absolutely no quilting. If you are a beginner it might take you a little more than ten minutes from start to finish, but not much. I hope you enjoy making these as much as I do.
Tutorial
Supplies:
Piece of Theme Fabric 12″x WOF(width of fabric)
Piece of Coordinating Fabric 18″x WOF(width of fabric)
With RST(right sides together) line up the fabrics along the left side and sew with a 1/4″ seam.
Next line up the right side of the fabrics and sew 1/4″ down.
This will create a tube and you need to turn it right side out.
Press so the border is equal on both sides of theme fabric. Then fold in half length wise with backside together and theme fabric facing out. Sew across the top from end to end knotting at each end. Sew across the bottom the same way.
Finally, turn the coordinating fabric points out and press. These can then be sewn down or a button placed in the center to hold them down.
That’s it! You’re done! If you have any questions just email me. If you need other gift ideas check out my “Jar Opener” Tutorial and the “Pocket Pouch” Tutorial. They are both fast, easy, and make great Christmas gifts!
